Hollow Floor
Hollow Floor is an exploration-based single-sitting Metroidvania inspired by VVVVVV and REDDER. Hollow Floor power-ups are based on adding movesets that will expand the player's ability to explore all three different dangerous biomes. Hollow Floor world is full of secrets and hard challenges that can be tackled at any moment in the game or completely ignored. All you need to finish is to collect any number of power gems to power up the portal and escape this dangerous dimension.
- Single-sitting Metroidvania where you can finish it in an hour.
- 99 optional coins to collect which provides extra challenges for challenge seekers.
- Secret passages and shortcuts to explore the whole world.
- A huge world with more than 100 rooms to explore.
- Powerups change the way you play and traverse the full world.
- Three different main biomes feature different game mechanics and challenges related to them.
- A final biome where the player can test their skills acquired during the previous three biomes.
- Finally, the game doesn't contain any time restrictions which allows for more relaxed play.

I loved the game (played here on Itch)
But could you please turn down the harsh bloop sound in the main menu? :) It was a bit frustrating that it was so loud.
The game itself is super cute and really fun. Im bad at these types of games, but even I managed to get the hang of it ^^

I did but having to do that still forces the loud sound, and unfortunately it didn't affect the menu-bloops.. only the in-game sounds 🥺

btw if you use the float ability you can go through the walls if you are falling You might want to fix that

very fun game! I played the demo, but not the whole game (I prefer to play free games) The death sound was a bit loud compared to all the other sounds though, but besides that this game is perfect!

Just beat the game with all 99 coins, incredibly fun game! I didn't think I would be motivated to find all the coins, but something about this game made me really want to find everything. Definitely one of my favorite platformers now, and I'll probably come back in the future to play again and again.

Just beat the game (the full game, not the demo).
Only took me 216 deaths and 1 hour 36 to get all coins and explore everywhere.
But damn the red areas crystal rooms were basically hell :O
The blue area afterwards was so chill and easy compared to it, couldnt compare at all to the spikes and gun hell before :-)

For people reading into comments, there is options for helping with respawn in these challenge rooms called challenge assist :)
Now I am deeply disppointed and my day is ruined! >:-(
What is "Coin NewGame" by the way?
Just speed running mode to collect all the coins, you start with all the power ups and all the gems And only need to find the coins

how to get to secret rooms?
They are secret and they usually have a tell in the environment art and placement, for the demo look at the room under the upgrade room to the left. Then check the highest-reaching area of the vine to the right ;)

How do you make games?
Every project have different engine because I like to experiment but mainly I start having an idea and start implementing the basic version of it as a prototype in that engine and then I expand on that.

I beated all the rooms, next the coins Also found a secret phasing through wall thing 25/26 Rooms? 16/18? I checked the entire map now

Hi, i have a small problem, I can only go right or left with my controller or my keyboard, I cant jump or anything and if I go straight on the right I finish softlock. Is there a reason why I cant jump? xD, except that I'm pretty hyped by the game, i'm trying to devellop a metroidvania aswell and i love to explore the world of other ppl to see their persepective of the genre. (sry for the bad english I'm not a native)
the jump is not important, you only need left and right, that is not softlock there is a path as you can climb vines :)
Web version was really fun so I bought the game for Mac! Sadly, it didn't open, saying: "You can’t open the application “hollowfloor” because this application is not supported on this Mac." I have an Intel Mac running on OSX v12, is there anything that can be done?
